For two years now a group, from the Wanderers Tramping Club have
stayed at Blackfern Lodge, around the 20 April to celebrate a members
birthday. We all really enjoy the quiet location, the many scenic,
walks around the property, the comfortable accommodation, the
absolutely delicious food and the friendly service. However, the
highlight for us on both occasions has been the dress ups. We all
prance around and then act out our chosen roles over dinner. This year
our characters included a vicar, a princess, a crossdresser, a lord, a
wench, Prince Charles and Miss Pringle. We will probably be back again
next year as this annual visit is fast becoming a club tradition.

the kids loved it, seeing the trout in the river, rosie the pet sheep what more could you ask for this is how nz used to be, we sure will be telling all our friends about this place or should we just keep it our hide away !!!! thanks again maria & kerry

We have stayed four times, once in the lodge and 3 in the forge, each time taking different friends who absolutely loved the place as we do. You could not pick a better place to take townies to and show them the King Country at its best

We did just over 200ks for the day, with only 30ks on the road. Stayed the night at the cosy Blackfern Lodge Waimiha The meals and atmosphere were awesome.
